Fourth Target is the longest chapter of BA by far, both by page count and time taken to complete. As of the start of 2024, the chapter has been in progress for thirteen years and 94 pages, and looks to require at least another 10-20 pages to complete, which will hopefully not take another thirteen years, heh.
Obviously the art in this chapter varies pretty wildly, given the long span of time it's taken place. I think it does its best in the 2016-ish era, just after Bertoh the Brave. I mean, I'm a huge fan of Bertoh too, but those couple pages right after make me very happy, artistically. There are a couple things I would do differently past that point if I was going back and doing it again, but I've told myself time and time again that going back to re-do existing pages when there are non-existing pages to do is a fool's errand, and anyway fixing old art is an infinite loop that leads into madness. Still, maybe some day.
That said, I am going back and making some minor changes; the last panel of the Bertoh sequence originally led into the next scene in a way I didn't like after the five year gap, and likewise with the first page in the woods after leaving the lodge. There were also two places with double-page spreads where my page counts didn't work out quite right, so a little extra padding and/or trimming was required. Also, Kanos' face in that spread was so off-model for his first legitimate appearance that it was just too much for me, heh.
